Kevin McKenney is joining the WCTC family this year 2019 as the Welding and Fabrication Instructor. Mr. McKenney has 17 years of welding experience, and he became AWS Certified in 2003. He attended Mid-Maine Technical Center for Precision Machining, and later, Eastern Maine Community College. Mr. McKenney graduated from EMCC with 2 Associate’s Degrees: Welding Technology, and Pipe Fabrication, respectively.
He began his welding career repairing farm equipment as a kid. After graduation from college, Mr. McKenney traveled the country as a welder/ pipe fitter for a few years. He has worked at most of the paper mills in the State of Maine, as well as oil and gas refineries, natural gas pipe lining, and nuclear power plants nationwide. He is excited to begin teaching his craft to the next generation of welders.
Mr. McKenney lives in Clinton with his wife and two boys. He enjoys doing firewood, logging, operating his own sawmill, hunting and fishing, and exploring Maine with his family.
