striveThe Strive program is represented through the General Trades and Work Experience courses.  These courses help qualifying students to develop life skills through a combination of practical and hands-on learning projects.

Diversified Occupations is a Pre-Tech program for 8th and 9th graders focused on hands on learning through woodworking. The students learn about Professional Attributes like positive attitudes in the workplace and being a team player; Appropriate Communication Skills in listening, speaking, and reading, and following directions; Critical and Creative thinking; Career Preparation like setting goals, identifying areas of interest, and working on a portfolio to include a resume, cover letter, and work samples; and last, but not least, Safety - maintaining a safe work area and following guidelines.

img 0610Students in STRIVE will receive instruction in the following: Retail, Business concepts, Math ( fractions, decimals, mastery of the basic four operations, and logic), and Health, and Community Exposure ( field trips, guest speakers, and job placement in the community).
