Lacey Breems joined the WCTC family in August 2017.
Lacey Breems grew up in Winslow, Maine, graduating from Winslow High School in 2001. She attended the University of Maine Farmington where she earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Concentration in Mathematics. While attending college, she substitute taught in Winslow, covering both regular and special education in all grades from K-12.
Shortly after graduating, Lacey took a long-term substitute position in a high school math classroom. Without expecting it, she found she made powerful bonds with the students and discovered a strong desire to teach at the high school level. Lacey did what she needed to do to become certified as a high school mathematics teacher (giving her dual certification for both K-8 and 7-12 Mathematics) and has been very happy working at the high school level ever since.
Currently, Lacey is the mathematics instructor at WCTC, and is completing a 9-12 Math Coaching Pilot Program through UMF. She is working closely with six program instructors at the school this year, helping to increase the level of mathematics being taught in their programs in the most effective way possible for the students.
When not at school, Lacey enjoys being home with her husband Noah and their wonderful, strong-willed daughter, Mia. She is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and not one to ever pass up a good shoe sale.
